Mr. Luke Chiarolanzio is a new teacher this year at Delbarton School. However, when he stepped onto campus this fall, it was not his first time; Mr. Chiarolanzio is a member of the Delbarton class of 2010. Since he enjoyed his high school experience so much, he decided to return and better the future graduates of his alma mater. Delbarton is a short drive from his hometown of Florham Park, which is only about eight miles away. Being a football star during his tenure here at Delbarton allowed Mr. Chiarolanzio to continue his football career at Lafayette University. There, he pursued his love of the past with a major in History. After graduating Lafayette, he was able to stay in the football program as an assistant coach for two years after which he made the decision to come to Delbarton and rebuild the football team’s offensive line, which lost four starters to graduation. As well as being the offensive line coach, Mr. Chiarolanzio teaches World Cultures and U.S History to middles schoolers, forging knowledge of the past to create better decisions in the future. Mr. Chiarolanzio’s favorite part about Delbarton has not changed throughout his career here, and that is the community feel and the common goal of the betterment of one’s peers, whether it be the students or the teachers. Besides teaching and coaching, Mr. Chiarolanzio loves baseball, working out, hunting and fishing, and video games. He likes all types of music but really enjoys Pandora’s 90s to 2000s station. Currently he is reading the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, which is a story about pursuing one’s dreams. Mr. Chiarolanzio does not have any dogs of his own but his family has three, a golden lab named Zack, a yorkie-poo named Casey, and a malti-poo named Belle. However, when he does get a dog he wants to get a large dog, such as a bullmastiff. One interesting fact about him is that he has the Delbarton motto tattooed on his arm. Mr. Chiarolanzio is happy to be back at the place he loves most.
