The annual Raising Hope Suicide Prevention Walk is Saturday, September 25th.

Participants should meet at the Lower Abbey Field by 10 AM on Saturday morning. The goal of this event is to to remove the stigma attached to mental illness, to bring attention to the facts about suicide, to remember those who have been lost, and to show support for families and friends.

Before the Walk begins, participants will take part in a brief ceremony and prayer. Will Calder, a participant in last year’s Raising Hope Walk finds it “a great opportunity to reflect on all of the stigma attached to mental health while joining together as a community to show to ourselves and the greater Delbarton community that everyone supports each other.”

Another goal of the Walk is to fund-raise for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. By donating, you are actively contributing to AFSP’s goal to find better ways to prevent suicide, to create a culture that’s smart about mental health, and to bring hope to those affected by suicide. The goal of the fundraiser is $10,000, and every little bit helps. The link to donate can be found here and on the Delbarton Student Body Page: https://supporting.afsp.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.personalCampaign&participantID=2454647
