“All of Us Are Dead” is a zombie-apocalypse thriller show that gets the audiences ontheir feet in every way possible. Taking place in a high school in the fictional city of Hyosan, South Korea a mad scientist by the name of Lee Byeong-Chan creates a deadly parasite that turns healthy humans into aggressive zombies. With its highly contagious nature, the whole city of Hyosan soon turns into a zombie graveyard. Luckily, a group of highschool students manages to escape the attack by hiding in their classrooms. Realizing that none of the rescue workers are going to save them, they have to find a way to escape the school before it is too late.
The element that distinguishes this captivating show from other zombie movies is the acting. With the bone cracking sound effects, the zombies are ruthless towards their victims; they run with full speed to feed on any human flesh they can find. In addition to the captivating depiction of the zombies, protagonists Lee Su-Hyeok, Nam On-Jo, Lee Cheong-San, and Choi Nam-ra, and antagonist Yoon Gwi-Nam, build on to the plot through their unique personalities and interests. Another element that brings the show to life is each of the character’s goals. Most of the survivors want to find a way to escape the apocalypse without getting bit by the zombies. On the other hand, protagonist Nam-ra and the main antagonist, Gwi-Nam, are inattentive to escaping Hyosan. Being the smartest student among the survivors, Nam-ra devises plans to escape the city while avoiding the zombies. As the school bully, Gwi-Nam does everything to hinder the survivors’ progress. From sacrificing his own peers as bait to using the zombies as weapons, he is ready to kill the survivors one by one.
