The Golden Globes is one of the biggest award shows in the film and television industry. Each year, actors, directors, and producers are invited to Beverly Hilton for a night of their lives to support each other and to recognize talented film and television stars on their accomplishments. This year, a number of awards such as the Best Male Actor to the brilliant Colin Farrell and the Best Female Supporting Actor to the iconic Zoe Saldaña. But, the Golden Globes is not only an awards show, but also a night of entertainment. That is why I came up with three of my own awards to acknowledge the ‘hidden talents’ in the Golden Globes.
Best Outfit of the Night – Heidi Klum
Walking on the red carpet? No. She was the red carpet. Heidi Klum absolutely blew everyone away with her Barbie-styled dress. The outfit fits her body perfectly while the shiny and warm red color matched the vibe flawlessly. Even with a dress this majestic, it does not overpower her but allows her beauty to stand out even further.
Best Speech for an Award Presentation – Vin Diesel
It’s all about family! Vin Diesel got the great privilege to be chosen to present the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. His speech was not fancy, but it was sentimental and reached out to everyone in the film and television industry. To work together with world-acclaimed actors and actresses in blockbusters movies is not easy. But, “when these films work, it shows that we are all one big family sharing a collective experience”. Films are more than just entertainment because they bring people together into a single community.
Best Duo of the Night
‘Wicked’ (2024) has just broken another major record for the highest box office recorded movie of a Broadway adaptation. The two main characters, Glinda and Elphaba, were played by none other than the iconic duo, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Their unique chemistry made ‘Wicked’ (2024) special. After all, they are inseparable. You can see them do everything together, from being featured in interviews to watching the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Like Emcee Nikki Glaser said, “if you do lose tonight, please keep in mind that the point of making art is to not win an award. The point of art is to learn more about ourselves by expressing our thoughts and feelings to the greater audience. It is to support one another because we all share the same passion for art.”
