The Delbarton School’s annual Run It Out 5K, held on April 27, 2025, in Morris Plains, New Jersey, brought together students, alumni, faculty, and local residents to honor the memory of Brian Fleury—a beloved teacher, coach, and athletic director who passed away in 2007 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Proceeds from the event benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), supporting their mission to cure blood cancers.
A Tradition Rooted in Legacy
Established in 2011 by then-freshman Patrick Fischer ’15 as part of his freshman project, the Run It Out 5K was inspired by the profound impact Brian Fleury had on Delbarton’s athletic culture and student-athletes. Since its inception, the event has raised over $250,000 for LLS, with the Delbarton community continuing to honor Fleury’s legacy through their unwavering support and participation.
