Delbarton-Notre Dame Glee Club Collaboration

Yajur Sriraman, Arts Section Editor

Mark your calendars everyone! Thursday, October 20th is an exciting day for the Delbarton choral program, as the Notre Dame Glee Club will join us for a combined concert that is sure to be spectacular! At 7:30 PM in the Fine Arts Center auditorium, Delbarton’s Schola Cantorum, Notre Dame’s Glee Club, and West Morris -Mendham High School’s “Men in Black” will sing together in what promises to be a wonderful night of music.

Founded in 1915, the Notre Dame Glee Club is a century-old program that prides itself on “rich tradition” and “artistic excellence”. They are a 75-voice group, and the oldest glee club at a United States’ Catholic university. This renowned choir has performed in many prestigious venues, they are visiting Morristown as part of their Fall 2016 tour. I speak for the entire choral program when I say that it is an honor to work with them.
Under the direction of Daniel Stowe, the Glee Club presents a “wide-ranging program encompassing art music from the Renaissance to the 21st century including spirituals, folk and popular music, and songs of Notre Dame.” Delbarton students, parents, family, friends, neighbors…everyone is welcome to attend, and we hope you will spread the word. It is a big day for the arts in Delbarton and we would appreciate a full house to support it! To reserve your tickets click here ($4 students / $9 adults).
