Delbarton’s annual One-Act Play Festival will run April 24 and 25, 2020.  What makes our One-Act Festival unique is that all of the plays are student-written, student-directed and student acted.

This year the Selection Committee read and evaluated more than a dozen plays submitted by aspiring authors, many from Mr. Pillette’s Theater class.  Although the process was a challenging one, three plays were ultimately selected for production in April.

Congratulations to seniors Rory Quinn for his play “Peak Performance” and Owen Spina for “Bandersnatch Blues”.  Also selected was the offering by junior Patrick Smart, “New York State of Mind”.  Each of these plays will undergo a period of re-writing and polishing before their final shape is completely formed.  Actors, writers and directors will work together to help develop each play.  According to Mr. Wyatt, co-moderator of the Festival with Dr. Carlson, “The evolution in the substance of the plays, from what we read in January and what we see performed in April, is truly amazing.”

Auditions for the One-Acts are scheduled for 3:00 PM on February 19 and 20 in the FAC auditorium.  Come out and try something new after school!
