What is Lego Club?
Lego Club is a Student Run Club (moderated by Mr. Flynn) that meets every Friday morning, serving as a place for students from all grades to celebrate and talk about their love for Lego. Every year, the club purchases a Lego set to build as a community. For the 2025-2026 school year, the club voted to build set #76269 or the “Avengers Tower” as it is an iconic pop culture building and many club members are Marvel fans. Through the school year, students have built the 5201 piece set, creating friendships through shared building experiences and conversations. To see the completed display of the Avenger Tower, check out Ms. McSorley’s Guidance Room. Another aspect of Lego Club meetings is trading Lego minifigures and sets. Students converse and barter their Lego to trade for the Lego that they want. In the time of Lego Club’s founding in December of 2021, there have been over 100 different fair trades, with students adding new components to their Lego Collection.
What has Lego Club done?
One of the events that Lego Club participated in this year was a Lego Drive hosted by Wave4Life and Lego Club. This Lego Drive was an event that the Lego Club leaders brought back from previous years. As a club, we donated bins of bricks to Mary’s Hand, a non-profit that serves immigrant families in the Morristown Area.
Seniors!
With any club, there is a list of senior leaders that are graduating. This year, there are three graduates: Neil Van Kirk, James Weidner, and Charlie Nyre. Lego Club is very sad to see another class of leaders leaving the school but we are excited to see where they will go and who will assume their leadership roles.
“The Lego Club has been a home for me for five years. Since its inception, this club was designed to be a meeting place for students across all grades, where all are welcome to build, trade, or simply just enjoy a few minutes together. I am sad to go, but I know this wonderful tradition will continue.” – Neil VanKirk
