Back on December 18th I gave my predictions for this season’s college football playoff. So far, I’m 5 for 8, not bad. But I did get two of the four semifinal teams wrong, which goes to show how crazy the quarterfinals were this year. With that being said, these are my picks for the last 3 games of the 2025-2026 college football season.
Ole Miss vs Miami(Vrbo Fiesta Bowl)
How they got here:
After two amazing performances against two great teams in two of the best games of the 12 team playoff ever, we have Ole Miss meeting Miami in the Fiesta Bowl. Ole Miss played maybe their best game in program history to upset Georgia. Through an amazing performance from quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and stellar kicking from Lucas Carneiro, the Rebels proved that they don’t need Lane Kiffin’s coaching to make a championship run.
The Hurricanes played a close game against one of the best teams this year, Ohio State. They won the game by being the tougher, more physical team and by forcing Ohio State’s stars to make mistakes, none bigger than a 72 yard pick six which proved to be the difference in the game.
Prediction: Miami: 23 – Ole Miss: 18
Both teams have had magical runs to get to this point. Ole Miss got dumped by their head coach and Miami had the controversy of getting into the playoff in the first place. So, instead of leaning on who has more momentum going into the game, I just have to pick who showed me more in the quarterfinals, and that was Miami. I think their older, experienced roster and the physicality they showed will get them the win.
Indiana vs Oregon(Chick fil-A Peach Bowl)
How they got here:
Both of these teams dominated their quarterfinal matchups to advance to Atlanta. Indiana made Alabama look like a high school team, beating them easily 38-3. Fernando Mendoza had another Heisman worthy performance, showing that he was clearly the best player this year. Oregon shut out Texas Tech 23-0 in the Orange Bowl. Should they beat Indiana, they could play their second playoff game in Hard Rock Stadium.
Prediction: Indiana: 33 – Oregon: 26
Like I mentioned in my article from December, this game already happened, with Indiana dominating Oregon on the road. Since then Indiana has looked better and better each game.
These games are shaping up to be an electric finish to this season. Come back after these semifinal games for my national championship predictions!
