The Grammy Awards is a annual awards ceremony that recognizes outstanding achievement for artists in the music industry. Because there are many aspects to the Grammys, let’s break it down one by one.
The Awards
The Album of the Year went to Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’. Beyonce is an amazing singer and I really enjoy listening to her music. But for me, her ‘Cowboy Carter’ was nothing more than mediocre. It had the country vibe to it but was definitely not strong enough to win a Grammy. On the other hand, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ took home five Grammy awards! Lamar wrote this song to describe himself as a person, saying that he values character and moral over competition. What an impressive achievement for him.
The Outfits
There were definitely some interesting “fashion statements” at the Grammys this year. For example, Jaden Smith decided to attend wearing a cardboard-textured haunted house on his head. I don’t know whether he was trying to be funny or fashionable, but it definitely looked stupid. More importantly though, Kanye West and wife Bianca were (allegedly) kicked out of the Grammys because they didn’t get an invite to the ceremony. Despite this rumor, Bianca still decided to show up onto the red carpet wearing a see-through dress… Again, what was the intention here?
The Performances
Sabrina Carpenter never fails to disappoint her audiences. She has made herself a well-respected celebrity through her numerous appearances in movies, memes, and shows. After her release of ‘Espresso’, she blew up on the internet. As many of her fans describe her performances, it is as if one was watching a Broadway show. It got the lights, the music, the action, and the tricks. I was almost dancing on my couch while watching her perform ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please Please Please’ during the 2025 Grammys.
There were shocks, snubs and upsets during the 2025 Grammys, like any award show would have, but every artist that was nominated worked hard and put their love into the music. That is the most important thing one can do.
